About Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company (MAHAGENCO):

Mahagenco has the largest production capacity in the world and the largest thermal capacity installed among all utilities in India. In terms of installed capacity, it is the second-largest production company after NTPC. Mahagenco with a production capacity of 13602 MW including 10170 MW thermal, 2580 MW hydel, 672 MW gas turbines and 180 MWp solar; It was established by the Government of Maharashtra under the Central Electricity Law of 2003 with the main objective of participating in the power generation sector.
