WCL Stands for Western Coalfields Limited. It is a coal company based in India. It was established in the year 1975. WCL is one of the eight fully owned subsidiaries of Coal India Limited. WCL has its head office at Nagpur. It is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal. The company at present has 84 mines spread through Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

Candidates have to appear for Written test first. If qualified in the written test, they will be called for Computer Aptitude test and Interview. Then the list of candidates selected will be based upon the total marks obtained in Written test, Computer Aptitude, Qualification and Interview. If same is obtained by more than one candidate then selection will be done based on qualification. If qualification is also same, then selection will be done based upon the marks of Computer aptitude test. If that is also same then it is based upon date of appointment followed by date of birth. 

WCL Trainee Exam Pattern for Written Test

• The exam is of Objective type i.e. it consists of Multiple Choice Questions.
• Duration of the exam is 1 hour.
• Total no. of questions are 70.
• The exam consists of 70 marks.
• Minimum pass marks for the exam are: 35 marks for general & 28 marks for SC/ST (10% relaxation).

WCL Trainee Exam Pattern for Computer Aptitude Test

• It contains topics like MS Word, Excel and Power point presentation.
• Duration of the exam is 30 minutes.
• The exam consists of 10 marks.
• Minimum pass marks for the exam are: 5 marks.
