Insurance up for crop loan in Rajasthan
The Rajasthan Government has raised the insurance cover by 1 lakh to 6 lakh for farmers. The state government aims to bring around 25 lakh peasants under the scheme. The Rajasthan Govt has raised the insurance for crop loan by 1 lakh in the present fiscal year in the ‘Raj Sahakar Personal Accident Insurance Scheme’.

EU, France grant 3.5m euros to curb emissions in India
To reduce emissions and promote sustainability, France, and the European Union extended a grant of 3.5 million euros under the ‘Moblise Your City’ (MYC) initiative. Three Indian cities Nagpur, Kochi, and Ahmedabad will get the grant as part of the EU’s commitment.
22nd European Union Film Festival (EUFF) begins
The delegation of the EU and Embassies of EU Members in collaboration with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has organized the five-day event. Award winning movies from countries like Austria, Cyprus, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Finland etc will be shown during the festival.
India drags US to WTO over duties on steel
India has complained to the WTO that the US has failed to drop anti-subsidy duties on certain Indian steel products after losing an earlier ruling, India also said the US had failed to meet an April 2016 deadline to comply with a WTO ruling

A railway employee in Pune Division, Shashikant Kutwal has won the gold medal at the 17th World Individual Chess Championship for differently-abled. Kutwal belongs to Baramati tehsil and was appointed with the Central Railway through sports quota in 2000.
Dhanya-Sanmay has won the U-14 Asian junior tennis title
Dhanya Shah and Sanmay Gandhi have won the Under-14 doubles title of the Asian Junior Tennis Championships at the Balewadi Stadium. Second-seeded Dhanya and Sanmay defeated Vishesh Patel and Shashidhar Kota in a battle with 6-4, 7-6(4).
Ramkumar Ramanathan has won the ITF Futures title
Indian player Ramkumar Ramanathan has won the $15,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis title. He played against the Raymond Sarmiento of the USA in straight sets. It was the first title of the season for Ramkumar and 15th of his career.

IOC approves new events for Tokyo Olympics
The International Olympic Committee has approved new events for the 2020 Tokyo Games. The additions include a mixed team event for judo. Each team will comprise of 3 men and 3 women, all representing different weight classes.
