Raipur Airport ranks 1st in Customer Satisfaction Index Survey
The Airport of Raipur, Swami Vivekananda Airport once again is again in the first rank in satisfaction of customer among 49 airports in the country. Airport Authority of India has made the continuous efforts for improving the facilities of services and passenger. The Airport of Raipur achieved around 4.84 scores on a scale of 5 points n the latest survey of CSI which is conducted by an independent of January – June 2017, by followed by the airport of Udaipur, Amritsar, and Dehradun airports that have the scores of 4.75, 4.74, and 4.73 respectively.
Railway launches India’s first solar powered DEMU train
In line with the Indian Railways ‘Solar Mission’ for reducing the dependency on fossil fuels, Railway launches the first solar-powered DEMU (Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) trains of 1600 HP from Safdarjung Railway Station. These are total 6 trailer coaches in the train that have around 16 solar panels fitted in them. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu launches this train from the Shakurbasti shed.

US House passes bill on defence cooperation with India
The US House passed the bill of worth over $600 bn for boosting the defence cooperation with India. The amendment related to India is passed by the US House. It requires the Defence Secretary in the consultation with the State Secretary. This is for developing the strategy for the advancement of defence cooperation between India and the United States.
India on 116th out of 157 nations on SGD index
India is on 116th rank out of 157 nations in a global index that assess the performance of all the countries toward achieving the ambitions of Sustainable Development Goals. The SDG Index, and the reports of Dashboard that is produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

Russia launches 73 satellites in one go, second most ever
Roscosmos, the Space Agency of Russia successfully launches the ‘Kanopus-V-IK’ the satellite for earth-imaging and 72 microsatellites into the orbit on only a single rocket. This comes after the launch of 104 satellites at once by ISRO earlier this year, breaking the record of Russia for launching 37 satellites. The microsatellites include the 62 CubeSats satellites that are developed by the US and some other satellites that are developed by Germany, Japan, and Canada.

EU, India set up fund for investments
The European Union (EU) and India have recently announced the IFM (Investment Facilitation Mechanism) establishment for the investment of European Union in India. This mechanism will allow for a close coordination between the Government of India and the EU with an aim of promoting and facilitating the investment of EU in India.
YES Bank receives $150 mn from OPIC to fund SME lending
One of the private sector’s banks i.e YES Bank recently the another round of funding of $150 million from the Government of the United States and Wells Fargo for funding the SME lending. This is basically the third round of funding which is a part of an arrangement between the US Government Development Finance Institution and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

Sundar Singh wins gold at World Para Athletics Championships
The player from India Sundar Singh Gurjar claims the Gold Medal in the men’s championship of Javelin Throw. The medal is in the event at the World Para Athletics Championship that took place in London. The player clinches the gold on the opening night of the tournament. He has attempted his best effort of 60.36 m that was enough for him in taking the spot.
