Railway ministry launched the Mission Retro-Fitment to enhance the experience of the passenger
Suresh Prabhu, Railway Minister said, Mission Retro-Fitment is a program that aims at upgrading the furnishing level in the Indian Railways coaches. Retro fitment project is the largest project in the world because Indian Railway has to refurbish around 40,000 coaches maybe in the next five years. This Mission Retro fitment is an endeavor to provide a better experience of traveling to the passenger by refurbishing the interior of the coaches. The retro fitment of Center Buffer Coupler with balanced draft gear will improve the safety of the passenger.
16th NERCPA Conference at Imphal inaugurated by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan
Sumitra Mahajan, the LS Speaker inaugurated the 16th North East Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference in Imphal on Thursday. Ms. Mahajan said that the North-East India is the gateway to Asia. She also said that the region has full potential, both natural as well as human resources for significantly contributing to the development of the country. The two-day NERPA Conference will deliberate significantly on three themes – North East and Look East Policy, special plan for railways development, airways, surface road and inland waterways connectivity for speedy development of North East Region’s economy.

PM Modi will inaugurate Usha School in Kozikode
PM Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated former Indian Athlete PT Usha’s ‘Usha School of Athletics’ in Kozhikode. Modi inaugurated the school via video conferencing from New Delhi. India ratifies two core conventions on child labour
In a most noteworthy move, India on Tuesday ratified two core Conventions of International Labour Organization (ILO) on child labour. One is a worldwide responsibility regarding end the most exceedingly terrible type of child labour and other is to guarantee least fundamental education to children. Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya has given over the Instruments of Ratification to ILO at Geneva as a part of the service. The Central government had ordered another law – Child Labour Amendment Act, 2016 – restricting work of child labour under 14 years of age in all occupations and procedures. With the ratification of the two center ILO conventions, India has ratified six out of eight center ILO conventions. Nations which confirm any of the ILO conventions need to experience a periodical reporting system every four years.
India to be Co-partner Company in ANUGA 2017, a global food trade fair
India is going to be a co-partner company in ANUGA. ANUGA is a global food and beverages trade. ANUGA 2017 is going to be held from 7 October 2017 to 11 October 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Koelnmesse GmBH will organize the ANUGA’s 34th edition. It seems like around 7,200 exhibitors from more than 100 countries are likely to take part in the event. The foreign investment and interest in India will also grow by such partnership. Not only this, the country would become one of the important partners of these events. India on top in global remittance-receiving list
India is on top in world’s remittance-receiving list. The World Bank said that India received around $69 billion in 2012. It is expected that on an average, the remittances to developing countries will grow by 8.8 percent for the next three years. Earlier, it was assumed to reach $515 billion in the year 2015. Remittances and Migration offer a lifeline for millions of people and can play an important role in the take-off of an economy. As a result, it enables people to join in the global market of labour.
IDBI Bank only Public Sector Bank to get ‘high’ rating for code compliance
The Banking Codes and Standards Board of India (BCSBI) 2017 has done the rating of banks for the Code Compliance. According to the ratings, only 1 out of 26 public and 8 out of 17 private sector banks, got ‘high’ rating for their code compliance adherence. Citibank, HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank are the three foreign banks which got high ranking. The Headquarter of IDBI Bank is in Mumbai. CEO of IDBI bank is Mahesh Kumar Jain.

On Thursday, defending champions India stormed into the Champions Trophy 2017’s finals with a crushing win over Bangladesh. India reaches finals of Champions trophy after victory over Bangladesh. India won the match by 9 wickets. The Indian team set up a new clash against Pakistan by unbeaten century with 123 runs from Rohit Sharma. Bangladesh set a target of 265 runs. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma shared a partnership of 178 runs made India win the match.
