The Parliamentary Board of BJP to meet for finalizing presidential nominee
The Board members of Bhartiya Janta Party are going to have a meeting today to finalize the Presidential candidate for the upcoming elections. The committee members include Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, M Venkaiah Naidu and Arun Jaitley, who are also the members of the Board. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah will attend the meeting. It is not clear yet whether the board will make the announcement of candidate’s name today because the party leader said that it may authorise Shah to take a call. The Board members will be briefed about the consultation undertaken by a party committee of 3 members with allies and opposition parties.
GST rollout: Filing deadline relaxed by the government for first 2 months
The GST Council on Sunday relaxed the rules of filing returns for businesses for the first two months of the rollout of the new indirect tax regime even as it stuck to the July 1 launch date. According to the revised timeline of return filing, Council decided that for July, instead of 10th August, the sale returns will have to be filed by 5th September. By 20th September, companies will have to file sale invoice for the month of August with the GST Network. It had to be filed by 10th September earlier. To obviate any lack of preparedness, the Council has decided to give a slight relaxation for two months – July-August. The Council decided to tax lotteries in two different segments, one is with state-run ones attracting 12% GST and the state-authorized 28%.

Special Gandhi Darshan train flagged off by Chief Minister of Gujarat
The train named as ‘Mahatma Gandhi Darshan Tourist Train,’ is launched for honouring the centenary celebration of the Sabarmati Ashram. Sabarmati Ashram was founded by Mahatma Gandhi. The Ministry of Railways has organised this tour and It will of nine days. On Saturday morning, Vijay Rupani, Chief Minister of Gujarat flagged off this special tourist train. The train will cover all the destinations connected with the Freedom Struggle Movement of India as well as Mahatma Gandhi. The important destinations include Wardha, Gaya, Motihari, Allahabad, Surat and, Varanasi.

Switzerland signed an agreement of automatic information exchange with India
On Tuesday, Switzerland signed an agreement with India for automatic sharing of information on the accounts of Indians in Swiss bank as of September 2018 and onwards. Switzerland and India signed this agreement to fight black the money cached overseas. They are not ready to share any details related to the accounts prior to this period. While the first such exchange will happen in the month of September in the year 2019. Switzerland and India also signs the ‘Joint Declaration’ for implementation of AEOI. This ‘Joint Declaration’ provides that both countries will start collecting the data in accordance with the global standards in the year 2018 and will exchange it from the year 2019 onwards.

India vs Pakistan Champions Trophy Final 2017: Pakistan won the match by 180 runs
In ICC Champions Trophy 2017, Pakistan won the match against India by 180 runs. Pakistan scored 228 runs in 50 overs while India was all out for 158 runs. On Sunday, Pakistan came into the match as underdogs. For a moment, Hardik Pandya has given a hope to Indian fans but his contribution was just delaying the inevitable Team India.

On Sunday, India posted their biggest victory over Pakistan in Hockey. India won the match by 7-1, in the Semi-finals of Hockey World League at Olympic Park. While on one side, Pakistan won the finals in ICC Champions Trophy 2017, on the other hand, in Hockey, India posted the biggest victory by 7-1against Pakistan.
