Piyush Goyal Launches Energy Conservation Building Code 2017Piyush Goyal launches the new Energy Conservation Building Code ECBC 2017 for increasing the saving of energy. According to the power ministry, the ECBC 2017 adoption for new commercial building construction will achieve around 50 percent energy reduction by the year 2030. Goyal also said that they have a code for both commercials as well as residential buildings. He also stressed the importance of not providing the subsidies for getting better results and financing at low cost.
144 awards given away by Rural Development Ministry
The Ministry of Rural Development has given away 144 awards under different categories to states and other organizations. In New Delhi, in the award ceremony, The categories of awards include Sustainable Livelihood, Aadhaar Seeding, Transparency and Accountability, Conversion and Geo-MGNREGA which are given under MGNREGA. Under the category of skill development the best performing States, best champion employers and best training partners, received the awards. A presentation is on the key findings of an evaluation of National Rural Livelihood Mission that Indian Institute of Rural Management carries out. The report of evaluation report highlighted the program’s main strength and has given a number of suggestions for expanding the program across the country.

India has taken a decision to renominate Justice Dalveer Bhandari as a judge in the International Court of Justice. On April 27, 2012, he was appointed as a judge in ICJ. It is also reported that his term will expire on 5 February 2018.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani inaugurates first Afghanistan-India air corridor
The President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani inaugurates the first air-corridor between Afghanistan and India. Ghani said in the ceremony that the aim of the corridor is to make Afghanistan an exporter country. He said that as the country is not an exporter, the country’s poverty will not be eliminated. Through Pakistan, it is allowed to send only the limited goods into India, but the imports from India are not allowed to send along the route.
BankBazaar, the online financial services marketplace opens an office in Malaysia
BankBazaar announced starting of its operations in Malaysia. Last month, BankBazaar had announced an investment of around Rs 5 crore in the Malaysian market. Also, an additional Rs 10 crore in its Singapore business. BankBazaar says that with more than around 70% active internet users with the government of Malaysia commitment for digitizing the financial ecosystem.

On 19 June 2017, the maiden interplanetary mission of ISRO completes 1000 Earth days in its orbit on 19 June 2017, well beyond its mission life design of six months. The Colour Camera of Mars is one of the 5 scientific payloads, onboard MOM. It has produced more than around 715 images so far. Further, India is now planning to return to Mars with Mangalyaan 2.0. India is also planning for a new mission to Venus that will happen after the year 2020.
