Radio Broadcasting in country completes 90 years.
Radio Broadcast completes 90 years in the country today and first ever broadcast in the country went on air from Bombay Station on July 23rd 1927 under a private company, the Indian Broadcasting Company. On 8th of June 1936, the Indian State Broadcasting Service became All India Radio. All India Radio has been serving to inform educate and entertain the massed since its inception truly living up to its motto.

Sports Minister Vijay Goel and Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari today flagged off the 10th Slum Yuva Daud at Khichripur in the Capital. East Delhi MP and BJP National Secretary Maheish Girri also took part in the ceremony. Thousands of Youth from Delhi Slums participated in the run which started from Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital and ended at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Stadium.

The Government today said it was pro actively considering the matter of the country having two separate time zones. The issue took raise in the Lok Sabha by Buju Janata Dal member B Mahtab who highlighted that there was a gap of nearly two hours in the sunrise timings between the eastern and western parts of the country. He claims that about 2.7 billion units of electricity could be useful if the time zone is advancing by half an hour. He also said only the centre could take a call on changing the office timings.

Brenda Hale appointed as UK supreme court’s first female president
Brenda Hale has been appointed as the first female president of the UK Supreme Court. Lady Hale is a longstanding Champion of diversity in the Judiciary. She has previously said the court should be ashamed if it does not improve its record on the issue. Her appointment was announced on Friday and she will take up the role on 2nd October. She will earn 225,000 billion a year as the head of the court.
US citizens ban from travelling to North Korea
News on 24th July 2017 Current Affairs is that The United States has banned American citizens from travelling to North Korea amid escalating tensions between Washington and Pyongyang and growing concerns about North Koreas nuclear capabilities. The move comes one month after the death of Otto Warmbier a US student who was sentenced to 15 years of hard labour in North Korea and fell into a coma while in custody there.

India Presented its Voluntary National Review Report on Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals to the United Nations. The report was presented by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya at the United Nations High-Level political forum on Sustainable Development in 2017.

SBI and Carlyle Group will acquire GE Capitals entire stake in SBI Card.
State Bank of India, the Carlyle Group and GE have announced that they have signed definitive agreements where by SBI and Carlyle Group will acquire GE Capitals entire stake in SBI Card, the second largest credit card franchise in India. SBI and Carlyle will own 74 percent and 26 percent respectively in each of the two entities.
Sebi inks pact with ESMA for info exchange on CCPs
Markets regulator Sebi said it has entered into a pact with the European Securities and Markets Authority for the exchange of information concerning Central Counterparties. Central counterparties are entities that help facilitate clearing and settlement activities. The signing of MoU is one of the conditions for recognition of third country CCPs by ESMA under EMIR.

Mayak Satellite may be third biggest object in sky after Sun and Moon –
Russia’s State Space Corporation Roscosmos had on Friday, July 14, successfully launched record-breaking satellites from the Baikonur Spaceport, delivering them into different orbits. The satellites that were launched include an Earth observation Kanopus-V-IK satellite, the main payload, and 72 smallsats. Mayak was one of the 72 small satellites that were launched into space aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket.
