India and Uruguay Agreement 2017
The Union Cabinet under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi approved an agreement between India and Uruguay. This agreement mainly aims for cooperation and mutual assistance in Customs Matters. Union Government also gave its approval for signing of an agreement for cooperation in the field of Agriculture and allied sectors between India and Portugal.
Swachh Bharat survey, Swachh Survekshan 2017 Begins in 500 cities
The government has started Swachh Survekshan 2017 in order to encourage competition for improving sanitation standards in the respective area. The Quality Council of India will conduct this survey to rank 500 cities across the country.
“Centre Approves new Projects for Ganga Cleaning over Rs. 370 Crore”
“The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has approved many new projects for the ongoing Ganga rejuvenation program in Haridwar and Varanasi. Approximately it includes an estimated cost of over Rs 370 crore. Under this project, payments are made on annuity basis to ensure that contractors do not abandon projects midway”.
