Tamil Nadu’s leading political party AIADMK has elected Sasikala Natarajan as the Legislative Party leader on February 5, 2017. AIADMK MLAs has unanimously elected Sasikala as the leader at a party meeting in Chennai. O. Panneerselvam has approved her name. Now she is set to become the Chief Minister of the Tamilnadu state. O. Panneerselvam stepped down from the post on February 3, 2017.

Ministry of AYUSH Constitutes a Committee to Prepare a Yoga Protocol for Diabetes Control
The Ministry of AYUSH has formed a 16-member committee to prepare a Yoga Protocol for Diabetes Control. The chairmanship of this Committee is Dr. H.R. Nagendra, Chancellor, S-Vyasa University. On this occasion, the Ayush Minister ShripadYesso Naik said that regular yoga practice can help reduce the sugar level in the blood. By regularly checking the weight and by identifying the symptoms, the Diabetes can be prevented to some extent.
Goa Distributes Pink Teddy Bears to First-Time Female Voters
To encourage the Women Voters in the assembly poll, the Goa Government has conducted a unique experiment. The Goa state Govt has distributed the 600 pink teddy bears to first-time women voters across the state. This experiment was seen to be a fruitful effort to encourage the women voters.
Qatar Airways Launches World’s Longest Flight
The Qatar Airways has recently launched the World’s longest scheduled commercial service. This flight to ply between Doha to Auckland. The Flight QR920 took off from Doha and nearly it will take 16 hours and 20 minutes to travel 14,535 kilometers to reach Auckland in New Zealand.

The Susheel Kumar, Coal Secretary, Ministry of Coal, has confirmed that India has planned to allow the non-state mining companies to mine and sell coal. The Ministry of Coal will set the auction four mines to both state-run and private companies during the year 2017-18. The winner of the auction would have the freedom to sell the coal.
