‘Oldest human’ has passed away
The Indonesian man who claimed to be 146 years old and keep the record as the longest living human ever has passed away recently. According to the news, it is confirmed that Sodimedjo, also known as Mbah Ghoto was born in December 1870. But Indonesia has started recording the birth dates from 1900.

In the coming two years, the Chenab river in Jammu and Kashmir will be replaced as one of the world’s highest railway bridge. It is expected to be 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower. The massive arch-shaped structure takes nearly Rs 1,100 crore in hostile terrain. The bridge forms a crucial link in the 111-km stretch between Katra and Banihal.
Mallikarjun Kharge is new PAC chairman
Finally, Mr.Mallikarjun Kharge has become the chairman of the 21-member Public Accounts Committee of Parliament. He has replaced K V Thomas. In general, this Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is a committee of selected members of Parliament, constituted by the Parliament of India. This committee is selected for auditing the revenue and the expenditure of the Government of India.
New ICSSR chairman – Braj Bihari Kumar
The HRD Ministry appointed Braj Bihari Kumar as the new chairman of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR). He has replaced the economist S K Thorat, who was heading the council since April 2011. Braj Bihari Kumar has been appointed for a term of three years.Kharge is new PAC chairman

The GSAT-9 or the South Asia Satellite will carry a new feature and makes the Indian spacecraft far lighter. The 2,195-kg GSAT-9 carries an electric propulsion or EP system. This type of hardware is a first on an Indian spacecraft.

Madhya Pradesh has become the 1st state to shift financial year
Indian state Madhya Pradesh has become the first state to switch to the Jan-Dec financial year from the existing April-March cycle. Generally, from the past 150-year, India is adopting the April-March financial year. The central govt has appointed CEA Shanker Acharya to examine the “desirability and feasibility” of having a new financial year.
AIIB grants USD 160 mn Loan for AP project
China-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has approved the USD 160 mn loan for a power project in Andhra Pradesh. This is the first credit from the bank for an Indian project. AIIB has approved this AP project with the motive to strengthen the power transmission and distribution system in AP.
64th National Film Awards
President Pranab Mukherjee has recently presented the 64th National Film Awards in New Delhi.

UN report- 7.1% growth this year
