Parliament – Indian Medical Council 2016
For Admission to all the medical institutions, the parliament has passed an Indian Medical Council Bill 2016, for the uniform entrance examination. This bill replaces the Indian Medical Council Ordinance 2016, and it will come from 2016 May 24. It will suit for the undergraduates & postgraduates. It will apply to private medical Institutions and state govt seats.
Central Body – 400 crores – Ganga Project
NGRBA (National Ganga River Basin Authority) has accepted various projects of worth Rs.400 crores approximately to develop the ghats and crematoria in different places along with river Ganga from Uttarakhand to West Bengal. This was done under the center ambitious Namami Ganga Programme. These projects are approved by empowered steering committee of NGRBA. To develop the ghats & crematoria stretch from Rudraprayag to Guptkashi in Uttarakhand, Bithoor, Allahabad, Kanpur & Bijnor in U.P, Kahalgaon of Bihar, Sahibganj, Rajmahal in Jharkhand, Bhatpara and Naihati of West Bengal. The NGRBA is the key central body which monitors execution and planning of all schemes of Ganga revitalization with five rivers – U.P, Jharkhand, WB, Bihar, and Uttarakhand.

Odisha Government has decided to recruit the persons of transgenders as warders in jails as per the directive of a supreme court. Home Department has released instructions to include gender category for (OSSC) Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission. This is the first time that the state Govt mentioned the third category in the recruitment process as a separate category.
