Vietnam Veedu who was the Indian film director & scriptwriter has passed away in Chennai. He was born in Tiruchi. Vietnam Veedu became the part of his name after his script. Sundaram was 76 years old. He directed many teleserials and also acted in films.

Tamilnadu CM – cash awards – five sportspersons
By Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has presented the cash awards to the five sportspersons. The Jenitha Anto of Tiruchirappalli has awarded with the cheque of Rs 25 lakh for winning an international chess tournament for the differently abled held in Serbia last month. Jenitha Anto had won the tournament for the fourth time. The other persons who achieved the award are C Ajith Kumar, R Naveen, L Samayasri, and S Priyadarshini. Jayalalithaa has also given the total cash incentive of Rs 1.20 crore to four other sportspersons who won medals in different events at World School Athletics Championship in Turkey in July.

For the first time, nine Kathakali dance group members have performed in Egypt. This group was the part of 14th Summer Festival which was organized by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Kathakali was the art which belongs to Kerala. Kathakali includes dance, music, drama, literature, etc.
Telangana signs – MoU – Water resources info system
The MOU has signed by the Telangana Irrigation Department for understanding the Indian Space Research Organisation for setting up a TWRIS (Telangana Water Resources Information System) on the ‘Bhuvan’ web portal. The MoU was signed at Hyderabad-headquartered National Remote Sensing Centre of ISRO, in the presence of T Harish Rao Irrigation Minister & A S Kiran Kumar ISRO chairman.
