Vodafone which is the India’s second largest mobile operator has restarted its multi-million dollar agreement for IT infrastructure with tech giant IBM for another five years. IBM will support Vodafone India’s IT environment transition into its hybrid cloud.
Yoga guru – TKV Desikachar – passes away
TKV Desikachar who was the yoga guru has passed away in Chennai. He founded the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. He was 78 years old. He was well known for transforming the way of Yoga.
Abhijeet Gupta – Commonwealth Chess Championship crown
Abhijeet Gupta who was the Grandmaster and the past world junior champion has owned the Commonwealth Chess Championship crown. In 2015, also he won that title. In Colombia this 20th Commonwealth Chess Championship and was held. In this edition, all the medals were owned by the Indian Players of the senior category. S L Narayanan and Deep Chakkravarthy awarded with the silver & bronze medal in the open section. Tania Sachdev who was the International Master owned the gold medal.

K M Hanumantharayappa has accepted the charge as new Chairman of Central Silk Board, Union Ministry of Textiles, for three years. Hanumantharayappa is the 25th chairman of Central Silk Board.
Past Arunachal Pradesh CM – Kalikho Pul – passed away
Kalikho Pul who was the past CM of Arunachal Pradesh has passed away in Itanagar. He was taken charge as the CM from the period of February to July 2016. He has hanged himself due to the depression, and he upset after his appointment was struck down by the Supreme Court. Kalikho Pul was 46 years old.

HDFC board has approved the merger of Maximum Life & Maximum Financial Services with its insurance arm HDFC Standard Life Insurance. The merged entity of HDFC Life-Max, total premium is Rs. 260,000 crores.
Reliance General – bancassurance deal – Co-operative Bank
Non-life insurer Reliance General Insurance Company Ltd and Shamrao Vithal Co-operative Bank (SVCB) tied up with bancassurance. According to the deal, the Reliance General will distribute its insurance products to the customers of SVCB having a network of 194 branches.

Maharashtra Government has launched Quit India 2-from Swaraj to Suraaj initiative, to mark the 75th anniversary of Quit India Movement.
