The Legal Services Authority Act,1987 to constitute in view of the provision of Article-39-A of Constitution for provide free and competent services to the weaker sections of the society to ensure that opportunities for securing justice are not denied to any citizens by the reason of economic or other disabilities , and to organize ‘LOK ADALAT’ to secure that the operation of the legal system promotes justice on the basis of equal opportunities. he object of the Act provides for effective monitoring of legal aid programme and supervise the effective implementation of legal aid scheme and to create awareness and to ensure access in lawful or legal manner.
LOK ADALATS are do disposal in summary way and through process of arbitration and settlement between the parties of large number of cases expeditiously and with lesser costs. It has provided to be very popular for providing in speedier system of administration of justice and also reduce the burden of arrears of work in regular court and also take justice to the door step of the poor and the needy and make justice to the people and less expensive. In the light of direction of NALSA Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and JHALSA Hon’ble High Court of Jharkhand a National Lok Adalat has been organise at the premises civil court, Dumka on 23.11.13 under the prompt guidance of Chairman District Legal Service Authority, Dumka-Cum- Principal District & Session’s Judge Dumka.
