Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) is a coal maker situated in India. The organization was established in 1975 after the nationalization of coal mineshafts in India. It works coal mines in Jharkhand and West Bengal conditions of India. It acquired all the private segment coal mineshafts of the Raniganj Coalfield. The organization has its central command at Sanctoria, in West Bengal. Coalmining in India originally began in the Raniganj Coalfield.
