Know more about MSRTC Bharti 2019:
In retracing the history of this development, we return to the 1920s; When several entrepreneurs started their activities in the public transport sector. Until the Motor Vehicle Act came into effect in 1939, there were no regulations governing their activities, leading to arbitrary competition and unregulated royalties. The implementation of the law has somewhat corrected things. Individual operators invited to form a union on defined routes in a given area. This has also been beneficial for travelers as a certain type of schedule has been established; with a schedule, designated collection points, drivers and fixed ticket prices. This was the situation until 1948, when the then Bombay government, with Morarji Desai as the original minister, created its own road transport service called State Transportation of Bombay. And, with that, the first bus with blue and silver stop took off from Pune to Ahmednagar.
At the time, 10 bus brands were used: Chevrolet, Fort, Bedford, Seddon, Studebaker, Morris Commercial, Albion, Leyland, Commer and Fiat. In the early 1950s, two luxury sneakers were also introduced with Morris Commercial Chassis. These were called Neelkamal and Giriyarohini and were used to travel the Pune-Mahabaleshwar road. They had two places for two people, curtains, interior decoration, a clock and green tinted windows. In 1950, the Central Government passed a law on trucking companies that delegates to states the power to form their own road transport companies. The central government provides one-third of the capital. The Bombay Road Transport Company (BSRTC) created and then took the name of MSRTC during the reorganization of the state. The ST started with 30 Bedford buses with wooden crates and coconut fiber seats.
