The Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) is an “A” program of Miniratna, a Central Public Sector Corporation (CPSE) under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. MRPL is located on a beautiful mountainous terrain, north of the town of Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada District, Karnataka State, India. The 15 million ton refinery has a versatile design with complex secondary processing units and great flexibility to process crude oils from various APIs, providing a variety of quality products.

MRPL, along with its parent company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (CGSB), owns and operates ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Limited (OMPL), a petrochemical unit capable of producing 1 million tonnes of xylene. Shell MRPL Aviation Fuels and Services Limited (SMA) is a 50/50 joint venture between MRPL and Shell Gas BV (Shell), a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, in the Netherlands, which markets jet fuel for airlines. , national and international carriers. Currently, SMA acquires ATFs from the MRPL refinery complex and supplies them to Bengaluru, Goa, Mangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut, Madurai. SMA also provides services to international carriers through alternative supply agreements in Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkatta. MRPL also provided timely deliveries to State Trading Corporation, Mauritius, which has entered into a long-term supply agreement with MRPL.
