About NSCL Recruitment

National Seed Corporation Ltd. (NSC) is a category I category B company, Miniratna, owned by the Government of India and under the administrative control of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. NSC was established in March 1963 to carry out the production of basic and certified seeds. At present, it produces certified seeds of about 600 varieties of 60 crops on its farms and through its registered seed producers. There are about 8 farms and 12,500 registered seed producers throughout the country that carry out seed production programs in different agroclimatic conditions. The turnover of the Corporation for the F.Y. 2016-17 was 882.82 crores.

The Corporation has 10 regional offices, 8 farms, and 65 regional offices / sub-units throughout the country. In the production of seeds, the focus is on the production of oilseeds, legumes, and hybrids, including vegetables. NSC has a strict quality control procedure to ensure the supply of quality seeds to farmers. NSC has established 4 quality control laboratories, each located in New Delhi, Secunderabad, Bhopal, and Suratgarh, to test the quality of the seeds. In addition to the production and distribution of quality seeds, NSC also participates in the production of tissue culture plants such as bananas.
