UPSC is a central agency of India. It is established on 1st October 1962. Its head quarters located at New Delhi. It is set up by Government of India Act. Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services Examination, Indian Forest Service examination, Engineering Services Examination, Combined Defense Services Examination, National Defense Academy Examination, Naval Academy Examination, Combined Medical Services Examination,Special Class Railway Apprentice, Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, Combined Geo scientist and Geologist Examination, and Central Armed Police Forces(Assistant Commandant) Examination. It recruits number of persons every year. It releases UPSC Recruitment Notifications to fill Grade A posts in Government of India. The Commission consists of a Chairman and ten Members. Every member holds office for a term of six years.
