Info about CTU

CTU stands for Chandigarh Transport Undertaking. It came into existence in the year 1966.  CTU is a Public Sector Corporation, which works under the Ministry of Transport, India. CTU has its headquarters at Chandigarh. CTU came into existence with 30 buses & Home Secretary manages it.  In Chandigarh, CTU buses follow Grid Transport System to reduce traveling time.

The candidates who are attending Chandigarh Transport Undertaking Exam should take the written exam first. Applicants who qualified the written exam will be tested for various tests.

The modes of selection for CTU Recruitment are:

• Written Examination.
• Driving Skill Test.
  1. Dug/Ramp Test.
  2. “8” Shape-Driving Test.
  3. Road Test.

Candidates should keep the following points in mind while attending for Chandigarh CTU Written Exam:

1. The Exam consists of Objective type questions i.e. MCQs.
2. The Written Exam consists of 3 parts with various subjects.
3. The first part consists of Knowledge of Motor Vehicle Act and Traffic Rules for 50 marks.
4. The Second part consists of Knowledge of Bus/ Vehicle repair/maintenance for 40 marks.
5. The Third part consists of Basic knowledge of first-Aid for 10 marks.
6. The Exam is for 100 marks.
7. There is no negative marking. The qualifying marks for UR/OBC will be 30 Marks and for SC candidates 25 Marks.

The candidates who qualified in the written test will be called for Driving Skill Test @ ratio of 1:20 of the vacancies in each category by merit. The candidates shall be called for counselling before skill test, and only applicants who are eligible in all respects shall be called for skill test. No TA/DA will be given to the candidates appearing for Written Test and attending the counseling session or driving skill test.

In driving skill test, we have three parts. The Dug/Ramp test i.e. called as the Reverse driving test will be given one chance. Candidates only those who qualify the Dug/ramp test will be given one chance for “8” Shape-driving test. Candidates who are qualified in the above Dug/Ramp & “8” Shape-Driving Test will be called for the Road Test.
