As that TFRI works under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education of the Ministry of Environment, applicants are selected based on Direct Recruitment process. Jobs in TFRI will carry All India transfer liability (where the Institutions/Centers of ICFRE are situated).

Eligibility Criteria for Tropical Forest Research Notification 2023

Educational Qualification

For Technical Assistant (Field/ Lab)

• The applicant should have a Bachelor degree in Science with Botany Zoology/Biology/Forestry subject

For Stenographer (Grade II)

• 12th from a recognized institute
• Should have a typing speed of 80 w.p.m in Stenography English/ Hindi
• Certificate course in computer application with typing speed 5 key depression for each word.

For Lower Divisional Clerk

• 12th from a recognized institute
• A typing speed of 30 w.p.m in English or 25 w.p.m in Hindi on a manual typewriter, or Typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi on computer.

For Technician 

• Matriculation from a recognized board with ITI certificate in relevant trade or
• Certificate course from a government recognized institute.

For Driver

• Matriculation from a recognized board
• Have a valid Driving License for motor cars
• Minimum 3 Years of Experience in driving a motor car
• Desirable Qualification- Knowledge of Motor Mechanism and able to remove minor defects in vehicles.

For Forest Guard

• 10th from a recognized institute
• Certificate in Fire Fighting
• Desirable Qualification – Home Guard training with good Experience

For Multi-Tasking Staff

• 10th from a recognized institute
• Desirable Qualification – Minimum 3 years experience in relevant trade

• For OBC / Ex-servicemen candidates – 03 Years
• Extra for Divyang (PWD) – 10 Years

TFRI ICFRE 2023 Pay Scale Details

Based on the Grade Level, selected applicants will get the Salary Package from the Tropical Forest Research Institute. Grade Level Pay is mentioned below;

• Technical Assistant – Pay Level 5
• Technician – Pay Level  2
• Stenographer – Pay Level 4
• Lower Divisional Clerk – Pay Level 2
• Driver – Pay Level 2
• Forest Guard – Pay Level 1
• Multi-Tasking Staff – Pay Level 1

TFRI ICFRE 2023 Selection process

• Written Examination
• Skill Test
• Proficiency Test

Selection Process Based on Skill/ Proficiency Test

TFRI Board will conduct a Written Examination for all the Candidates applying for TFRI Jobs in Jabalpur. Those who get selected in the Written Examination will be selected based on the below category.

Stenographer

• Minimum typing speed of 80 w.p.m in Stenography English/ Hindi
• Typing speed 5 key depression for each word on Computer

Lower Divisional Clerk

• A typing speed of 30 w.p.m in English or 25 w.p.m in Hindi on a manual typewriter, or Typing speed of 35 w.p.m in English or 30 w.p.m in Hindi on computer.

Driver

• Driving test including knowledge of motor mechanism, traffic rules, and signals.

Forest Guard

• Male Candidates
  • Walk: 25 Km in 04 hrs
  • Height: Minimum 165cm
  • Chest: Without expansion- 79cm, With expansion -84cm
• Female Candidates
  • Walk: 14 Km in 04 hrs
  • Height: Minimum 150cm
  • Chest: Without expansion- 74cm, With expansion- 79cm

Technician

• Test in relevant trade (Electrical/Carpenter/Plumber)

TFRI ICFRE Application Fee

• The applicant must pay the application fee through Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank drawn in favor of the ‘Director, Tropical Forest Research Institute’ payable at Jabalpur.
• Application Fee is Not Refundable.
